LDAP Support for login & A Groups Question

Hello,
I work for a K-12 school district. We are interested in using this with students, so they can communicate and work at school and at home.  

We have 18,000 students.  All have LDAP accounts via active directory.  Does eyeOS support LDAP for authentication?  If so is there any docs to review so I can set this up?

Also, if students wanted to create a group and assign users, can they do this?  I would also be interested in them being able to create small groups to work on projects and share files.  As the root user, I would not want to have to create every group and add all the users.

My first exposure to eyeOS was in the very early stages and I just became re-introduced to it.  It has grown in leaps and bounds!!!  I am very impressed with the development.  Hat's off to the team!

I think we will begin implementation with version 1.2.  The new features make it very useful.

LDAP and the ability to join EyeOS to a domain would both interest me.

Well, PHP does have LDAP support, so in fact, it isn't impossible to create such thing. Also for companies is this very interesting. And it won't be that hard either (I think...)

I'd also like to point out a related suggestion I made.  There's so much "integrate this with that" that putting authentication in the core of a Web app wastes so much time these days (a lot of us end up modifying them; MediaWiki for example has tons of extensions rather than patches... hmm....)
