Hello everybody.

Today the developers from 1&1 released a new qooxdoo version. But not only one of many.. Their version 1.0. Best congrats to them.

Qooxdoo is used as base for eyeos 2.0. It is not just a toolkit or just a framework: It's both!

Now let's show you some speed test results (from a Dojo Toolkit speedtest): http://dante.dojotoolkit.org/taskspeed/report/charts.html?exclude=defaultbrowser0 . They test qooxdoo 0.8.2, but qooxdoo 1.0 should be even faster Smiley ...

It's not just fast, but it even supports many professional things, which other frameworks/toolkits are missing. But just take a look at their Demo page: http://qooxdoo.org/demo .

Wow, that's great !
I started allready to write some widgets myself, since in 1.x they ar way to limited !

So, i'll stop waisting time now, Qooxdoo is really great !

Are all the widgets made available in eyeOS 2.0 ?
(I suppose so, if not you probably have to exclude them)

Great news, and very motivating to continue using eyeOS
(altough, I probably will rewrite my app to take advantage of these widgets)

Thanks,
Steven

I don't really know if qooxdoo was the right decision.

I was browsing the net with eyeNav and wanted to download something to my eyeOS-account. Guess what - no luck!

As eyeNav utilizies an iFrame, I tried to think of a solution for that. The only thing I could think of, was developing a renderengine for the Canvas tag, where you have full power on what's happening and don't have to use tools which were not made for the use of such a project like eyeOS.

Don't get me wrong, qooxdoo is fine with some optimization, still.. I don't think it's the nonplusultra-solution for us.

The MozillaLabs develop a Onlinesourceditor for example, which utilizies the canvas tag. I know that it's not supported by most of the popular browser, still the current want do know what to do with a canvas-tag.

Just my 2 cent's

Hi Amir,

I guess you're mixing things: eyeNav is part of eyeos 1.x and qooxdoo will be used in eyeos 2.x. Even though it's just a framework for the eyeos system and not for websites inside of applications (such as a navigator).

thats true, still it's not what i was refering to.

as far as i know, qooxdoo doesn't offer possibilities for sandboxing of webpages.
