Hi everyone,

My name is Alexandre and I have been in the eyeOS community since a few... years now. I am partly in charge of the French Community and did some of the French translations.

I am also a molecular and cellular biologist currently working in Bethesda (USA). I use eyeOS in my daily work to share data with my collaborators in the USA but also in France and Singapore ! I thought eyeOS was an amazing platform for scientists and proposed to develop a Sotware Suite specifically dedicated to scientists.

So was born eyeLIMS: a Free and Open Source "Laboratory Information Management System" based on eyeOS.

A website explaining and hosting the project should be online soon at: www.eyeLIMS.com

Of course, the whole project is Free and Open Source under the AGPL v3 and the project is community-based.

So feel free to join the community, test the future apps, improve them or propose some new apps !

After looking at the website, I was very impressed.

This project seems like another big step in the eyeOS (and webOS in general) world.

I'll be glad to lend my helping-hand Wink

Thanks to all for your greetings !

The website is almost finished (at least to start for a few weeks). Now, I will focus on the applications. I will publish, on this forum, one topic per application and their roadmap. I will try, as much as possible, to indicate which knowledge developers should have and how it could be also useful for non scientists (For example, initially eyeStorage will be a simple collection manager so it could be derived in a CD, DVD manager, or wine cellar manager, etc...). My goal is that this project will also benefit the whole eyeOS community.

In parallel, I am trying to have the project known by bioinformatics experts so that both communities could meet on this forum.

More info soon.

Stay tune !
